Time Event
I don't normally talk about dreams, but...
I woke up in the middle of watching three simultaneous performances of Salome's dance, one by a skinny operatic diva (I rather think it was Josephine Barstow in her prime, or possibly Maria Ewing) and two by mimes, one of whom seemed to be a youngish Lindsey Kemp and the other some rebellious acolyte, who, to make things more complicated, was dancing not to the Strauss music but to the Prokofiece Sinfonia Concertante for Cello and Orchestra, which, when I woke up, was playing on the radio as I suspect the Strauss had been earlier...

I know part of where that came from, at least. Josephine's performance at the Transfabulous concert in which she tried to dance and was regularly knocked down and kicked and punched by an invisible assailant reminded me strongly of seeing Kemp in 1971 or 1972 before anyone had heard of him, in a church hall in Notting Hill. And one of the reasons that memory was available was that I had been thinking of the whole GLF period.

It fascinates me how the mind processes several things to come up with dreams; I wish my creativity were as efficient.
Here we go again
fjm put me in touch with ticking_fool on the subject of this piece The sort of rant I hoped we left behind last century

My response was as follows Collapse )
