Anyone who is on Facebook

Still trying to find out exactly what is going on, but it seems that Facebook have censored Del LaGrace Volcano and deleted his page, for printing a photograph of someone intersex as a comment on the Caster Semenya controversy.

You don't have to think Del's intervention entirely helpful to worry about this as a heavy-handed attack on queer art and on a distinguished queer artist. There is a protest group forming up on Facebook - Bring Back Del Grace Volcano.

Later I've found this description of the image that led to censorship and it seems to me entirely unobjectionable and, contrary to what I said above, not even slightly problematic.

The photo was a 19th c b/w, showing a person's(whose face was covered by their hands) genitalia(legs open, as they were being examined publicly), touched/exhibited by a male suited hand. Del related this photo to his comment on caster and how society persecutes difference with humiliation and public display since forever... Why do we put ourselves through shit sites like fb to communicate, when we are watched like that? Quite scary!

Later Still The site is now back up, minus the image that seems to have been the subject of controversy.
