And it occurs to me that what such an election needs is for a prominent gay Christian - Gene Robinson maybe has the degree of fire - to stand up and say this.

If you choose the latter, you are choosing your own punishment for the grave sin of homophobia.'
One of the reasons why I am not a Christian is that it would be very bad for my character - I would enjoy saying that, often, in public, far too much.
