Later on, probably after I have slept some more, there will be a post about the Chain Reaction reunion, but in a fit of wakefulness after three hours sleep I just need to post this one majorly cool thing that happened yesterday.

As you know, my sweetie travels up and down the Underground everyday seeking out malefactors. Yesterday, the day after the failed bombings on the Underground, she saw Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, sitting in the corner of a carriage, reading his newspaper, without any obvious detectives, or any press, just being a commuter.

Now, I am highly critical of Ken Livingstone's preparedness to give official welcome to very dodgy Islamic clerics. And some of his historical analyses of how we got here are unhelpful or oversimplified. Yet this preparedness just to take the risks of any other citizen of the city is precisely why I will vote for him time and time again - he is a socialist and a democrat in a way that Tony Blair just is not.
